What is Unofficial Kansas?
Unofficial Kansas is the officially unofficial Kansas brand.
We make apparel, goods, and other questionable contributions to Kansas culture inspired by the state's people, places, weather, geography, and general weirdness.
We're not affiliated with the State of Kansas or any government agency.
Obviously.

Are you actually affiliated with the State of Kansas?
No.
Unofficial Kansas is completely unofficial.
Our fictional departments, clubs, offices, patrols, societies, and other organizations are part of the joke. They have no governmental authority whatsoever.
Please do not call the Kansas Weather Service about your forecast.
They won't answer.

Are you based in Kansas?
Unofficial Kansas was created for people who know Kansas, love Kansas, laugh at Kansas, or have spent enough time here to understand why all four can happen simultaneously.

Do I have to live in Kansas to wear Unofficial Kansas?
Absolutely not.
You can be from Kansas.
You can live in Kansas.
You can have escaped Kansas.
You can be dating someone from Kansas.
You can have driven across Kansas and wondered if you were ever going to get there.
We don't discriminate.

What does 'unofficial' mean?
It means we're celebrating Kansas without pretending everything about it is serious.
Kansas has plenty of official things.
This isn't one of them.

What is the Unofficial News?
The Unofficial Journal is our collection of Kansas stories, observations, oddities, places, people, weather, and other things we think are worth talking about.
Some of it is funny.
Some of it is strange.
Some of it is both.
We call the author The Unofficial Correspondent because "person who spends too much time reading weird Kansas news" didn't fit on the business card.

Is everything on the website true?
Our products and factual editorial reporting are intended to be accurate.
Our fictional organizations are not.
If a shirt says Kansas Beach Patrol, please don't expect the person wearing it to rescue you from a riptide.
There is no riptide.
This is Kansas.

Our products are produced through our apparel and fulfillment partners. Specific production details can vary by product.
We believe in being transparent about where and how our products are made, and we'll provide product-specific information whenever available.

How do your products fit?
Fit can vary by garment.
Each product page will include the applicable sizing information. When in doubt, check the size chart before ordering.
We'd rather you spend 30 seconds measuring than discover that your new favorite Kansas shirt fits like it was designed for someone else.

How long will my order take?
Because many of our products are produced and fulfilled on demand, processing and shipping times can vary.
Your order confirmation and shipping notification will contain the most current information.

Do you offer wholesale?
We're interested in working with independent retailers, Kansas shops, visitor centers, boutiques, and other businesses that understand what we're doing.

Can I use your logo or designs?
No.
Our logos, graphics, photography, written content, and other original materials are protected intellectual property.
Please don't put our designs on your own shirts, mugs, signs, websites, or highly questionable municipal documents without permission.
If you'd like to license or collaborate on something, contact us.

Do you have a physical store?
Not currently.
Unofficial Kansas is primarily an online brand.
If that changes, we'll let you know.

Join the email list and follow us on social media.
Subscribers get first looks at new collections, product launches, Kansas stories, and occasional other correspondence of questionable official status.
